Q&A with Esther Atalla
Esther is a Global Mobility Specialist for APAC, Atlassian. Esther won TEMi’s 2022 GMP1 Excellence Award for outstanding achievement and joined the TEMi Taskforce in 2023.
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself?
Esther: I am a Global Mobility Specialist with 18 months’ experience in the Mobility Industry (so still quite fresh to this space!) Prior to that, I worked as a lawyer for seven years with a particular focus in immigration law. Outside of work, I love to travel and spend time with my husband and my (almost) three-year-old son.
Q: What is the most rewarding/exciting aspect about working in the Talent Mobility Industry today?
Esther: I love being involved in the end-to-end process to help our current employees and new hires seamlessly transition into a new life on the other side of the world. It is so satisfying to know that the little bit of help that we can provide makes so much difference to the employee and their family.
Q: Why is having a community focused industry group like TEMI important?
Esther: There are so many moving parts to Global Mobility and a group like TEMI allows all of us mobility professionals to get together and share best practice and lessons learned. The end result greatly benefits the people we support in our day-to-day work.
Q: What motivated you to join TEMI’s team of volunteers?
Esther: I completed the GMP1 course in 2022, and found it extremely valuable and rewarding. I wanted to give back to the TEMI community who have been so supportive of my growth since I started in this industry.
